We currently have a Director opportunity in our Financial Restructuring Services Advisory practice in our New York office.

The Director is expected to leverage their own existing network of relationships and to build new relationships in the restructuring community to generate at least $2 million of revenue annually.
Demonstrate leadership in building out a practice of high performing individuals that is market facing and technically competent in restructuring.
Deliver the breadth and depth of the firm to clients in restructuring situations (e.g., financial, tax, human resources, investigations, accounting)
Provide technical expertise and experience at an advanced level; participate in managing client relationships, client service and practice management.
Understand the allowable scope of services for restructuring for audit and non-audit clients of the firm
Sponsor and generate thought leadership in the restructuring market through written documents and being a panelist at distressed conferences
Deliver presentations on the spectrum of services to potential clients.
Team with Partners to drive the financial and operational success of the practice and to achieve practice goals

* Must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Masters Degree, CPA or CIRA preferred.
* MBA in Finance preferred.
* Knowledge of bankruptcy processes and procedures are required.

Job Requirements
* Minimum of 12 years within a professional services firm specializing in financial restructuring.
* Existing network of contacts in the restructuring industry, specifically with legal firms, workout groups of commercial banks and investment banks, that can be leveraged to generate revenue opportunities
* Extensive experience restructuring troubled companies and related financial, analytical experience.
* Excellent project management skills and proven capabilities in managing a team.
* Strong knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles and expertise within the field of restructuring.
* Self-starter with the ability to work in fast-paced, multi-task environment.
* Superior interpersonal, communication, marketing, sales and organizational skills.
* Ability to travel extensively
* Leadership and management skills.

Senior SQL DBA

POSITION SUMMARY
Aon Consulting Production Support Services team is looking for a Senior Database Administrator. This position is responsible for the database design, performance analysis and tuning as well as some server administration, monitoring and disaster recovery plans. The candidate will work closely with application development teams in US, Singapore and Shanghai to develop and support multiple applications. Candidates must have the desire and ability to grow beyond the typical DBA role working with software developers to design database applications. The ideal candidate would possess a thorough understanding of SQL Server databases and related technologies and experience in an application DBA role. The candidate must be a good team player and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist in the design / implementation of database procedures and best practices.
•Work with internal and external customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing data warehouse structure.
•Interact with business user and project manager to understand the business process and requirements of the application.
•Perform database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning.
•Research and evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions for business issues.
•Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
•Provide support on software application/s by participating in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality.
•Mentor other DBAs on the team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•8+ years of comprehensive programming and DBA background with solid experience in the systems development life cycle.
•Minimum 5 years of experience with developing software at the data layer in an SQL server environment using Transact-SQL.
•Requires 2-5 years of related experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of relational databases.
•Experience with mission critical and highly transactional RDBMS systems.
•Experience with schema design, database maintenance, and, performance tuning techniques.
•Knowledge of SQL Server backup and recovery methods.
•Experience in MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005 (2008 is a plus).
•MS SQL Server, ASP.NET, ASP, XSLT, XML, VB6, VB.NET.
•Software development skills in Object-Oriented programming Microsoft ASP or .NET.
•Ability to make good/sound decisions and use independent judgment.
•Ability to work in a team environment.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Sr. Facultative Property Underwriter - New York, NY

The Sr. Facultative Underwriter is responsible for driving earnings for the respective unit through new business development and client management activities. The successful candidate will insure a high quality of underwriting for prospective deals and a high service quality for existing accounts. Responsible for coordinating and sharing Industry specific knowledge and related underwriting know-how across the group.


Responsibilities for this position are as follows:
• Consistently identifies and analyzes significant exposures.
• Develop strong marketing relationships with clients in order to ensure a strong submission flow and high hit ratio
• Perform underwriting analysis for each facultative contact to be quoted.
This includes:
• Gathering data and information to perform all necessary analysis
• Assessing the quality of the available information
• Assessing the production source
• Analyzing the quality of the underlying insurance structure
• Analyzing and, if appropriate, proposing changes to the reinsurance contract wording, terms and conditions
• Analyzing the accounts’ loss history
• Analyzing operational, financial and claims audit reports
• Pricing of the reinsurance contract and documenting pricing analysis and expected profitability.
• Clear documentation of the recommendation and reasoning behind it
• Ensure compliance with the Facultative Underwriting Guidelines as well as Divisional and Group Guidelines
• Work in team environment and learn from and teach others about general knowledge of primary and reinsurance underwriting.
• Good understanding of profitability and financial analyses. Understands mechanisms of profitability (e.g. reserving, loss development, IBNR, earning patterns)
• Conversant with wide variety of primary products and underwriting issues.
• Understand and be able to discuss basic reinsurance coverage/clauses with clients.
• Solid understanding of SRA rating methodology.
• Capable of assessing and developing alternative ways of handling risks.
• Keeps “network” connections current. Shares market intelligence with co-workers.


The following background and skills are required:
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years in the insurance industry; some reinsurance experience is strongly preferred.
• Above average written/oral communication skills.
• Above average presentation skills.
• Above average negotiation skills.
• Some travel may be required for business reasons.
• Moderate to heavy PC use required.
