The New School seeks SENIOR DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

An outstanding opportunity is available for the right senior-level communications professional at The New School, a renowned and nearly century-old progressive university in New York City with 10,000 degree students in the fields of design, liberal arts and social sciences, management, and performing arts.

The Senior Director of Communications oversees the 6-person Public Relations office within the Communications and External Affairs Department (CEA). CEA integrates numerous disciplines, including web and online media; video, photography, and broadcast; marketing and advertising; editorial; publication production; graphic design; as well as media relations and internal communications. Reporting to the Vice President for Communications and External Affairs, the Senior Director will work closely with representatives from each of these departments, as well as colleagues from around the university, and with the press.

He or she will be:

* a passionate advocate for education, the arts, and social causes
