Position Summary
The vice president, benefits and administration will be responsible for ensuring that all organization-wide human assets information systems and administrative processes are running smoothly, overseeing our client’s staff member benefits programs and ensuring legal compliance for the organization. Currently, our client employs 1,900 full-time, part-time, temporary and seasonal employees. The number of staff members will continue to grow in the coming years. The vice president will supervise a team of ten full-time employees, and additional employees on a temporary basis, to achieve ambitious efficiency and effectiveness goals. The vice president will play an integral role on the Human Assets Management Team, and will report to the Chief People Officer.
Responsibilities
Specific administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Ensuring the team achieves its goals and completes all projects in a timely fashion related to the quality, timeliness and accuracy of our human assets data and reporting, customer service, and legal compliance
* Providing thought leadership on operational efficiencies in the short and long term, and managing the team and organization through ongoing process improvement
* Partnering with our client’s information technology team and external systems providers to create effective processes and operational efficiencies
* Overseeing the design, integration, and implementation of large-scale systems projects (e.g., PeopleSoft)
* Partnering with inside and outside counsel as well as managers to ensure employment related legal compliance organization-wide
* Building a strong network of relationships with external consultants and technology providers to help the team achieve its goals
* Building and managing a strong network of relationships within the organization to gain support for initiatives and to drive change
* Attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining a high-performing team
* Leading and participating in cross-functional initiatives to further the organization’s goals
Specific benefits responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Ensuring the team achieves its goals and completes all projects in a timely fashion related to benefits program performance and customer service
* Working with the team, and other senior leaders (e.g., the President) to design and oversee the administration of a competitive benefits program
* Overseeing and managing an $8 million dollar benefits budget, forecasting costs, and tracking actuals to budget
* Developing and implementing benefits-related policies and procedures
* Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of human resources regulations, policies, industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable laws
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience overseeing a large-scale technology integration and operational team
* 10+ years of professional experience with a strong emphasis on operations and progressive management experience
* Excellent project management skills, including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through implementation
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Must be extraordinarily results-oriented and have exceptional strategic-thinking skills
* Experience and success working at a fast-paced, high growth organization of at least 1,000 staff members
* Prior HRIS implementation experience a plus
