Fund Management / Portfolio Assistant (Midtown)
Provide support for the portfolio management process of the Small Cap team.
Responsibilities:
Assistance to portfolio management process:
• Support Small Cap team comprising of 1 US equity portfolio manager, 1 Director of Research and 5 Equity Analysts by providing general assistance to the team in all aspects of the portfolio management process.
• Provide assistance to Portfolio Manager with trade order management, entering and coordinating trade orders with Equity Trading desk using Charles River Trading System.
• Provide team attribution and analysis through use of FactSet’s PA2 application.
• Create and maintain quantitative equity screens on a regular basis through the use of FactSet’s Universal Screening application.
• Listen to macro economic conference calls and communicate results to portfolio manager.
• Maintain data integrity in FactSet.
• Monitor cash positions and communicate to portfolio manager.
• Knowledge of individual client requirements and implementation through trading.
• Monitoring and collation of corporate actions on behalf of the funds managed on the desk.
• General assistance to the team in all aspects of the portfolio management process: e.g. monitoring of company reporting dates, news flow, sourcing & collating research, compiling & studying portfolio data, compiling fundamental and technical stock data from a variety of sources.
• Serve as liaison with inter-dependent departments, such as Traders, Trade Support / Operations and Fund Accounting.
Position Requirements:

Charles River Trading System (or equivalent Portfolio Management System)
Bloomberg
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel)
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance, economics or mathematics
• 2 years minimum experience in a similar role supporting portfolio managers directly and equity analysts.
• Advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of macros / basic VBA would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of financial markets and relevant investment instruments.
• Basic performance measurement and reconciliation skills.
• Highly motivated, articulate and detail oriented.
* Compensation: 70-80K with excellent benefits
