Store Manager
Responsible for day-to-day supervision of operations of our new store located at well known, highly visited historical site in the Manhattan harbor area opening in spring 2009 and will report to the Metro NY Regional Manager. Individual must be a “hands on” manager comfortable in a start up environment. Tasks include achieving sales budgets, controlling inventory levels and operating costs, maintaining store appearance and handling logistical issues in a complex operating environment. Individual must excel in recruiting, training, supervising, scheduling and retaining staff. Daytime hours including weekends and holidays. No evenings.
Individual must have five years of retail management experience, preferably in a Museum or specialty store setting and a BS, BA or Associates degree in Management, Marketing or related field of business or equivalent experience. Individual must be able to prioritize and organize multiple tasks, work independently, and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. A strong working knowledge of personal computers and Point of Sales Systems is preferred.
