Fixed Income Operations Associate

By joining our team as a Fixed Income Operations Associate, your role will encompass support of a wholly new area of business focus within our Institutional Brokerage team. We look to you to leverage your expertise and help to design an operational support workflow for the fixed income product base being covered by traders. In doing so, you will act as a leader and a collaborator, working with colleagues throughout Operations. You will design an efficient workflow where you will demonstrate to operations team members locally and throughout the firm how to support, from a brokerage operations perspective, the products being traded within the Fixed Income space. Furthermore, you will also have the opportunity to interact directly with our dynamic team of sales traders as well as with our clients and the clearing firm with which we work to facilitate trade settlements and reconciliations as well as help to develop the trading desk's daily P&L, all the while continuously evolving and enhancing an operational workflow that you helped put into place.

Reconcile daily p&l and positions by business unit and report information to the back office operations team
Resolve trade discrepancies and settlement issues with clearing firms
Support a team of fixed income sales traders for all operational issues, including trade settlement and reconciliation
Develop and maintain daily P&L for fixed income sales trading desk
Support accounting department with monthly reconciliations and yearly audits

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree required
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar role required
Strong knowledge of fixed income products, especially corporate bonds, essential; experience supporting government or agency bonds
Must have strong expertise with fixed income trade settlements
Familiarity with regulatory reporting, especially TRACE reporting, essential
Experience with Excel, Access, and trade capture/position management systems required; experience with Bloomberg and Reuters strongly preferred
Must possess excellent communication and time management skills
Diligent and meticulous with strong attention to detail; Must be able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
Ability to improve established processes and leverage technology resources
