Senior Java Developer for successful NYC start up!

Successful NYC start up (already profitable) is looking for a well rounded Senior Lead Developer with strong architecture/design/development skills.

You will be a key player in the design and development of new software, as well as the improvement and enhancement of existing. This requires a broad range of skills from architect to developer, and a deep understanding of how to build robust software from the ground up. Must understand the full life cycle of front to back end development and deployment.

This role requires a deep knowledge of core Java, design patterns, open source tools, J2EE, RDBMS. Requires experience building high-performance and high-availability systems that can handle a large number of transactions in a mission critical env. Should have a strong grasp of multithreading, collection APIs, concurrency, I/O, Message Driven Middleware, etc. You will work on all layers of the application, with emphasis on server side development and DB (exposure to front end UI). Solid understanding of ORM. Experience in optimization, web services and socket-level IO is also strongly desired. Experience with J2EE technologies; Open Source tools; SOA; and TCP/IP level protocols.

Want someone passionate about technology and pushing the envelope to make things work better (with an eye on how to design using flexible architectures for the future).

This person will also be able to build and lead a team of his/her own, and as such, should have past experience in a team leadership or mentoring role. Would like to see someone that has led a team in the successful delivery of a high volume/high transaction product.

As a Senior Lead Developer, you will also be the go to person to research and evaluate new technologies and advise on what tools can bring the company to the next level. You will not only be a key player in the design and development of the company’s next generation products, but you will also assess current products and suggest ways to technically enhance our software while also simplifying our user interface.
