Payroll Manager

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources Operations, the company is seeking an experienced, self-directed payroll professional to assume the responsibilities of managing the payroll function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in processing payroll in a mid-sized, multi-state organization.

• Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls
• Using standard and ad-hoc reports, prepare special reports for management
• Administers all year-end W-2 activities
• Ensures the accurate processing of all mandatory and voluntary deductions as well as garnishments, liens, and direct deposit requests
• Responds to inquiries and verifications for unemployment and other payroll-related data
• Maintains related records, filing tax, preparing accounting transactions and documents
• Documents payroll standard operating procedures, and recommends best practices for efficiency, audit, compliance, and accuracy
• Ensure legal compliance including all Federal, State and Local laws regarding payroll administration
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as they relate to payroll
• Generate reports utilizing ADP Reporting tools for export to excel workbooks
• Collaborate with internal resources on the development and maintenance of automatic data feeds/interfaces from ADP Payroll to/from the employee benefit enrollment system and other HR vendors
• Primary Liaison with Accounting Department
Job Qualifications/Requirements and Benefits
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or other related field
• Minimum of six years of relevant progressive experience in payroll
• Extensive knowledge of ADP Pay eXpert, ADP HRB (HR Benefits module), and other ADP outsourced services (i.e. unemployment claims, Transit, Flexible Spending, etc.)
• Experience in vendor management, relationships, and financial oversight of outsourcing agreements
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment is essential
• Strong risk management, analytical and financial skills
• Strong mathematical skills
