POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the position is responsible for providing comprehensive advisement and career and transfer services to full-time and part-time continuing students enrolled in the undeclared health area. The Advisor works with the academic dean, departmental faculty, other academic affairs staff, enrollment and student affairs areas to assist students to declare their major and help them select appropriate courses, monitor students’ performances and take appropriate action; handle students’ problems with respect to curricular requirements; check academic requirements toward graduation; and supervise appropriate services, including workshops and presentations. Will also supervise extramural activities, such as internships and community service; and maintain liaisons with programs such as the BMI, WAC, FYP, Learning and Scholarship and the Honors Program. The Advisor will participate in recruitment events and perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years experience in an urban collegiate setting with a diverse population required; master’s degree strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work as a team player. Demonstrated ability to work well with faculty. Willingness to work to evenings and weekends as needed. Strong organization, project management and facilitation skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrable ability to work effectively with faculty and administrators.
